Desafío Cura Brochero was officially presented in Córdoba. The Press Conference and signing of the agreement of this new mountain bike race, which will be held next September 13 and 14, in Valle de Traslasierra in the province of Cordoba, took place at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chateau Carreras.
The presentation was attended by Pablo Eli (Sports Director of Más Eventos and General Organizer of Desafío Cura Brochero), David Eli (Director of Más Eventos), Darío Capitani (President of the Agencia Córdoba Turismo), Raúl Sansica (President of the Agencia Córdoba Cultura), Georgina Bardach ( Vocal of the Board of Directors of the Agencia Córdoba Deporte). In addition, Silvina Cabezas (Mayor of San Pedro), Luis Quiroga (Mayor of Mina Clavero) and Sandro Atala (Municipal President of Ambul) were also part of the launching, together with other important government authorities.
This new race will take place in September and will ride along the roads that the saintly Cura Brochero rode by mule, bringing hope, faith, transformation and progress to every corner of the Valle de Traslasierra. Featuring three competition routes (35km, 85km and 118km), the riders will have the chance to challenge their own limits.
“We saw that there was a lot of potential for a race of this type. We wanted this Desafío Cura Brochero to include everyone who goes out cycling, of all levels, and for this we created three distances, with many categories, very inclusive. The race will be incredible,” said Pablo Eli, anticipating the great competition that is coming.
Meanwhile, David Eli commented: “We have a not so far past in cycling and now we are in a new discipline for us, such as mountain biking, with Pablo’s (Eli) project. We will put all our experience so that this race becomes an annual event that will allow us to show the beautiful places that Traslasierra has. The race is very interesting and suits all tastes”.
On the other hand, Darío Capitani referred to the importance of this new competition. “This is an extraordinary possibility to create a new event to give prestige to our Córdoba and there is no better way than doing it in an extraordinary place, a wonderful region and also, to do it in the name of a person like Cura Brochero. There are many Mayors involved to take this event to a national level, first of all, but I have no doubt that it will be a major event in the short term”.
Accordingly, Raúl Sansica referred to the benefits that an event like this will generate in the region: “Córdoba could not show itself in any other way. We work for our province, for productive development and what better way than in this Desafío Cura Brochero. Beyond the sporting aspect, which is very strong, the important thing is all the cultural, gastronomic and regional and provincial economic benefits. This is to be highlighted”. Georgina Bardach emphasized: “Córdoba is the venue of great events, so I am proud of all the work of the Mayors, authorities and the organization as well”.
“The race will take place over breathtaking landscapes, you will feel the history that our Saint Cura Brochero had. The idea is to work together because when you work together everything works better. Córdoba is charming, but Traslasierra is lovely, so everyone is invited to this race”, concluded Silvina Cabezas, who also signed the reciprocal collaboration agreement together with the Mayor authorities present.
The conference took place in front of a large audience. Among those present was the cyclist Juan de Figueredo, who said excitedly: “I have very good expectations for this race with the different modalities and distances”.
The countdown for the Desafío Cura Brochero has already begun. Next Monday will be the opening of registration for a competition that is not only a race, but a journey through landscapes that tell stories of effort and solidarity, where every climb, every descent and every curve will connect with the legacy of Saint José Gabriel del Rosario Brochero, a man who made overcoming and service a philosophy of life. Surely, this will be a competition not to be missed.
